Give your dog or cat the freedom to come and go without replacing your door or window. We cut and install pet doors directly into existing glass panels, flyscreens, and timber or aluminium doors across Brighton and Melbourne's south-east.
Installing a pet door into glass is a job that requires precision — cut it wrong and you risk cracking the panel or compromising the seal. At Standout Glazing, we install pet doors into existing glass panels, sliding door screens, and timber or aluminium doors cleanly and safely, with the right tools and 20+ years of experience behind every cut.
We supply a range of pet door sizes to suit cats, small dogs, and large breeds, with options including basic flap designs and more secure locking flap models. Whether you're a homeowner wanting a permanent solution or a renter needing a removable screen option, we'll find the right fit for your situation.

Installation options
Pet door into glass
We cut a precise aperture into your existing glass panel and fit a framed pet door insert — the most permanent and weatherproof option.
Pet door into flyscreen
A neat, cost-effective option for sliding door screens — the pet door replaces a section of flyscreen mesh and suits most standard screen door frames.
Pet door into timber door
Cut and fitted directly into a solid or hollow-core timber door — we can also supply and fit appropriate door hardware after installation.
Pet door into aluminium door
Aluminium sliding and hinged doors can accommodate a pet door insert — we assess the frame and panel thickness to ensure the right fit.
Repairs & replacements
Broken flap, cracked surround, or a pet door that no longer seals properly? We replace worn components and refit existing pet door frames.
Custom solutions
We consider your pet's size, mobility and provide advice to ensure the most cost-effective and fit-for-purpose solution for your furry little friend.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pet doors

Can you cut a pet door into any glass panel?
Most standard annealed (non-toughened) glass panels can be cut to accommodate a pet door. Toughened or laminated glass cannot be cut after the fact — in those cases we would replace the glass panel with one that includes the pet door aperture. We'll assess this at the quote visit.
What size pet door does my dog or cat need?
As a general guide: a cat flap for cats and small dogs under 5kg; small for dogs up to 10kg; medium for dogs up to 20kg; large for dogs up to 40kg; extra large for larger breeds. We measure your pet's shoulder height and width at the quote to confirm the right size.
I'm renting — can I still get a pet door installed?
Installing a pet door into glass or a door is a permanent modification and requires your landlord's written permission. A pet door into a flyscreen is a removable, reversible option that may be more suitable for renters — we can advise on this at the quote.
How long does installation take?
Most pet door installations are completed in under 2 hours. Glass cutting and fitting is precise work but straightforward. We'll usually be done and packed up in a single visit.
